750x750mm Black Xtreme Stainless OX Complete Mechanical Kit - all parts needed

Select Pulley and Coupler Bore Diameter (to fit the Motors you intend to use).

This bundle holds all items you need to make the mechanical part of the Stainless OX CNC with dual Belt Configuration.

To complete you build you need a spindle and holder, spoil board, Step Motors, Controllers, PSU, Wires and Connectors (most of this can be found in this shop) and possible more if you like e.g. limit switches.

If you use a Kress spindle you can use this holder designed for the Stainless OX

Nut Block for 8mm Metric Acme Lead Screw


This 8mm Acme Nut Block is a great choice for many projects requiring lead screw linear motion. It serves more than one purpose in that it can be mounted to the bottom of a 3mm plate utilizing M5 nylon insert nuts and 15mm M5 screws or can also be mounted directly to V-Slot utilizing two channels with 15mm M5 low profile screws and two tee nuts.  These mounting choices allow for a host of modular machine applications.  You can mount this block along any length of V-Slot to create your linear motion.

This precision trapezoidal (metric) lead screws pitch and diameter are a perfect combination of high torque and speed. This screw fits the bill for most machine designs and has become a standard on OpenBuilds.

Equipped with a large diameter that helps eliminate whipping and a high pitch which provides a quick 8mm translation for every single revolution on the screw.

An example steps settings for your control software would be 200 steps per millimeter if you are running the common 1.8 degree steppers and your stepper driver is set to 1/8 step mode.

 NOTE: Because this lead has 4 starts with 2mm pitch between each this means the pitch will be 8. So 8 is what you would use for the pitch setting in the steps calculators..

Eccentric Spacer. Length 1/4"


Eccentric Spacers are the perfect solution for creating a pre-load from the V-Wheels to the V-Slot™ rail.

They are added to one side of a set of wheels on a gantry plate.

The eccentrics give an aprox 0.79mm adjustment range allow for a very strong and secure connection between the V rail and wheel.

The Eccentric Spacers comes with a divot on the outside which allows you to know at all times where the smallest part of the cam hole is.

Spacer Block


This is the V-Slot Spacer Block.  It was specially designed to be used in conjunction with the V-Slot Gantry Plate.  

It allows you to raise the V-Slot Gantry Plate up away from the rail 12mm so that you can run transmission components such as a belt drive or threaded rod underneath the V-Slot Gantry Plate. 

  • M5 tapped holes to allow mounting to the V-Slot Gantry Plate.  
  • 3 holes that allow for mounting of full size OpenBuilds Wheels.

Aluminum Spacers (5 Pack)


These are high quality, custom made aluminum spacers.  They are great at making sturdy standoffs/spacings for your projects.

Metric version of the spacer is 10mm OD which makes a very stable platform.

The spacer has M5 ID to give a thicker wall to keep the screw snug and centered.

These spacers can be used in all sorts of builds.  For example, We use the spacers to create a space between the stepper motor and motor mounting plate. This allows for room to mount hardware such as couplers and belt pulleys to the motor shaft.

An assortment of the most popular sizes are available.

L Bracket, double


This versatile Universal L Bracket is designed to work with many different V-Slot and Tee Slot extrusions.  

This handy L Bracket is very useful when building machines or joining two tee slot aluminum extrusions for any reason.

Cast Corner Bracket


These are standard 20mm x 20mm x 17mm (with a 4mm wide T-slot tab) and is used to connect (2) V-Slot or 20 Series T-slot aluminum extrusions together for a 90 degree connection.

NOTE:  Since the cast comer brackets have stand off teeth (for locking in the slot) in one direction you use 10mm Low Profile Screws and for the flush mount direction you use the 8mm low profile screws along with the M5 Tee Nuts

3M Double-Sided Bonding Tape


3M Double-Sided Transparent Foam Tape

This Double Sided tape is selected to be used for binding the lower belt to the rail in a dual belt configuration.

Use this tape to glue down GT3 5mm wide belt. The tape is wide enough to be split into three.

Drag Chain 18x25mm - 1meter


Drag Chain 18x25mm - 1meter

Drag Chains are used to manage the cables on the moving axis avoiding collision and damage. It also gives a more finished look of your machine.

Each 1 meter piece includes 2 ends. The links snap together so you can shorten or lengthen it. The ends have mounting holes.

The Drag Chain has individual links that only swivel in one direction. The links has an hinged opening for easy acces to the wires inside. Caution! Only open the side opposite of the hinge. Attempts to open in the hinged side will break the hinge (see photos for details).

Wires and cables are run in inside the links. This allows wiring to be protected when run close to moving parts. Furthermore it insures a minimum bend radius to protect the cables from fatigue.

You will typically need a piece that is approximately the length of your axis

This bracket is designed to hold down the upper belt. The block is milled in 8.8mm Glass Fibre Reinforced Plastic (GFRP) and holes are threaded M3 and M5.

This bundle holds 6 complete brackets - all you need to fix 2 Y-axis and one X-axis belt.

Z limit Switch Bundle

Use this bundle to mount a limit switch in the top position of the Z-axis. Use double sided tape (1-2mm thick foam type is best) to mount to the gantry plate.
